Capital Markets Authority

Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a semi-autonomous body responsible for promoting, developing and regulating the capital markets industry in Uganda, with the overall objectives of investor protection and market efficiency. It was established in 1996 following the enactment of the Capital Markets Authority Act (Cap 84).
CMA is seeking graduates to join its graduate trainee program in our Finance and Procurement departments.
The candidates selected for the graduate trainee program will gain valuable experience in the areas of financial management and/or procurement and disposal management.

Supplier Management:

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.

  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and manage supplier performance.

  • Support negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.


Procurement Processes:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders.

  • Ensure that procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Help in maintaining accurate records of procurement transactions.


Market Research:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, new products, and pricing information.

  • Analyze market conditions to support strategic sourcing decisions.

  • Stay updated on industry developments and innovations.


Cost Analysis and Savings:

  • Assist in the analysis of procurement costs and the identification of cost-saving opportunities.

  • Support the development and implementation of cost reduction strategies.

  • Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics.


Contract Management:

  • Help in the drafting, review, and management of contracts with suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

  • Assist in resolving any issues or disputes related to contracts.


Inventory Management:

  • Support inventory management activities, including tracking stock levels and reorder points.

  • Help in managing inventory levels to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce excess stock.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement (first class or upper second) awarded in a period not exceeding two (2) years by the date of application.

  • No work experience is required, however the desired candidate(s) should demonstrate strong intellectual skills with the ability to comprehend technical matters pertaining to the area of training and demonstrate a high degree of social skills, self-awareness and self-motivation.
