Position Overview
As a General Cashier and Paymaster at JW Marriott Kampala, you will be responsible for handling all cash-related operations with accuracy and integrity. You will ensure proper documentation, reconciliation, storage, and reporting of all cash transactions in accordance with company policies and financial procedures. This role also includes payroll-related duties and liaising with banking and armored transport services.
This position plays a key part in maintaining financial discipline and ensuring a secure cash management environment within the property.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Verify financial data including figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, proper coding, and completeness.
Securely maintain and organize all files, financial records, and cash equivalents according to company standards.
Process and analyze computerized financial information; classify and code numerical data using journals, ledgers, and software tools.
Handle petty cash, cashier banks, and related financial instruments; maintain detailed logs and documentation.
Perform periodic audits of cashier banks in compliance with SOPs.
Record and act on all cash variances and discrepancies in line with hotel policy.
Serve as the point of contact for armored car services and banking institutions.
Support internal, external, and regulatory audits to ensure full compliance.
Assist with period-end closing processes and financial reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and guest-related information.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
