Job Description
JOB TITLE: Credit Documentation Officer
ORGANIZATION: PostBank Uganda

JOB PURPOSE
The Credit Documentation Officer is responsible for preparing and reviewing credit documentation for Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) clients in alignment with the Bank’s credit policy, regulatory guidelines, approval conditions, and internal procedures. The role aims to mitigate credit risk and minimize operational losses through accurate and timely documentation.

How to Apply
Prepare and review offer letters, guarantees, and other credit documentation in line with approved terms and conditions, ensuring the Bank's interests are protected.
Collaborate with the Legal Department to periodically review and update standard templates for offer letters and security documents.
Maintain a comprehensive register for all incoming documentation requiring review.
Ensure offer letters are signed according to the Bank’s authorized signatory mandate.
Generate daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual reports on issued offer letters and guarantees.
Monitor and manage deferrals and expiries of CIB credit documentation in coordination with Relationship Managers to ensure timely closure and risk mitigation.
Respond to queries and calls related to credit documentation preparation and review.
Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) for turnaround time in issuing offer letters.
Conduct training for Relationship Managers and branch teams on credit documentation processes.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Ensure zero financial losses due to lapses in document preparation or process management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or a related field.
Knowledge of legal aspects of banking, including corporate law, land law, credit product structures, and regulatory standards, is an added advantage.
Experience in conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) and customer due diligence.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in credit documentation or related roles.
Strong skills in document preparation, review, and management
