Job Description
The Formula Technician will prepare and distribute infant formulas as per prescribed nutritional standards, ensuring accuracy in ingredient ratios and hygienic handling. The role requires coordination with healthcare teams to meet patient-specific needs, management of inventory, adherence to safety and hygiene regulations, and maintenance of accurate records. The technician must also engage in continuous training and quality control processes to ensure high standards in formula preparation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and have prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, particularly in a formula room.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and process infant formula following prescribed nutritional ratios
Ensure hygienic and safe handling, labeling, and distribution of formula
Collaborate with healthcare professionals including nurses and dietitians
Monitor and manage inventory levels of formula ingredients and supplies
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all prepared formulas
Ensure compliance with hospital, health, and safety regulations
Conduct quality control checks and participate in training programs
Maintain a clean and sanitized formula preparation environment
Perform algebraic calculations for correct mixing ratios
Assist team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of a Diploma or Associate Degree (Nutrition Science preferred)
At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital formula room
Proficient in basic algebra and computer skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Familiarity with safety, hygiene, and hospital compliance protocols
