Job Description
Job Title: Finance Associate
Organisation: Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor & update the Budget monitoring module with respective budget holders and proactive prevention of further variances by providing advice of best course of action.
Prepare accurate & complete donor periodic financial reports based on donor funding reporting requirements.
Capturing vendor purchase invoices in the Navision system ensuring correctness, adherence to Baylor and donor policies.
Reviewing and releasing project specific purchase orders as per relevant procurement policies of Baylor Uganda and delegation of authority.
Processing payments to activity participants, vendors and Baylor staff. All payments should be processed on a timely basis as per relevant procedures.
Supporting in efficient running of all audits (internal, external, donor and statutory audits) by extracting the required schedules and supporting documents, review and do due diligence on the documents before submission as well as updating the action plans tracker. He/she should follow up on audit recommendations/actions to conclusion.
Reviewing customer accountabilities ensuring correctness and adherence to organization and donor policies and guidelines. Subsequently maintaining a tracker for the advances and updating the relevant parties for action.
Ensure that bank reconciliations for all Baylor Uganda Bank and Mobile Money accounts are prepared on time.
And any other duties that may arise in due course of task execution.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance related field.
Minimum of Level 2 qualification to ACCA or CPA (U)
3 years’ working experience in the Finance department of a reputable Non-Governmental Organization or company.
