Finance Assistant

About the Role
Smart Applications International Limited is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial transaction processing, maintaining financial records, and supporting compliance and reconciliation activities in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Review, post, and process payment requests, ensuring all vouchers and supporting documents are properly stamped.
Enter journal entries in the Finance ERP system.
Organize and file all financial documents for easy retrieval.
Prepare and review payment vouchers, attaching relevant journals.
Prepare and submit timely bank reconciliation statements, ensuring no outstanding reconciling items.
Reconcile staff debtor accounts and follow up on debts exceeding 45 days.
Reconcile all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts.
Prepare and submit online VAT schedules for payments.
Process payroll deductions and submit reports to the revenue authority.
Manage petty cash requests, disbursements, and account reconciliations.
Monitor and analyze costs, payments, and expenditures.
Handle monthly withholding tax payments and reconciliation.
Support asset management by verifying assets, updating registers, and posting depreciation.
Assist in processing Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and quotations.
Perform reconciliations involving related parties.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
At least CPA Level II or ACCA Level 2
Minimum of 2 years' experience in finance/accounting in a busy environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Strong knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Sage ERP is an advantage
Ability to work effectively in multicultural and diverse teams
Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills
Required Competencies

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and follow-through
