Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Uganda

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities and premises management strategy to maintain high standards of quality and appearance across all bank properties.

  • Support the business in identifying suitable premises, conducting site suitability assessments, negotiating lease agreements, and coordinating lease registration or renewal in liaison with the Company Secretary.

  • Ensure compliance with property and facilities management policies in alignment with the bank’s sustainability and green initiatives.

  • Coordinate business requirements to ensure all project scopes, designs, and budgets adequately reflect operational needs.

  • Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure the delivery of high-quality refurbishment and maintenance projects, including managing the prequalification process for all service providers.

  • Manage regular and periodic maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of all bank-owned premises, vehicles, and equipment.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to assess project requirements and provide recommendations on facility-related matters.

  • Ensure uninterrupted power supply to all bank premises, including management of both main and backup power systems.

  • Optimize facility operations to reduce costs and increase value, including lease management, renovations, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Lead and supervise the facilities team, including courier and transport personnel, while supporting the training and professional development of departmental staff.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Academic & Professional Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Facilities Management, or a related field is required.

  • Professional certification in Facilities Management and/or Project Management is an added advantage.

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Facilities Management is also an added advantage.


Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience, preferably in facilities and project management.
