Position Overview
RELON is seeking a proactive and experienced Education Coordinator to oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of education-focused projects. The successful candidate will lead efforts to improve learning outcomes in refugee-hosting areas, strengthen education systems, and advocate for inclusive and equitable access to education.
This role requires a strong foundation in teacher training, curriculum development, and inclusive education, along with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders including government bodies, NGOs, and community organizations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of education programs in partnership with government institutions, NGOs, and academic stakeholders.
Design and deliver teacher professional development programs, emphasizing learner-centered, inclusive, and gender-responsive pedagogies—particularly in GFS-supported schools.
Develop and pilot innovative teaching and learning materials, including audio and digital content for early-grade learners.
Oversee the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of project activities to ensure alignment with donor expectations, timelines, and targets.
Facilitate training sessions and capacity-building workshops for educators, school administrators, and community leaders.
Promote gender equity and disability inclusion across all educational interventions.
Manage program budgets and coordinate with the finance and M&E teams for compliance and reporting.
Represent RELON in education coordination platforms, sector working groups, and consortium meetings.
Support other duties related to education programming as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in education program coordination or management, preferably in donor-funded or humanitarian settings.
Demonstrated expertise in teacher training, curriculum design, and instructional strategies.
Strong knowledge of education systems in low-resource, crisis-affected, or transitional contexts.
Proven skills in project planning, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and reporting.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
