The program aims to enhance the economic resilience of vulnerable youth, refugees, women, and girls in Kampala and Wakiso by supporting green job creation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive employment.

Role Overview

The Project Assistant will play a key role in the daily implementation of the WeWork project in the Kampala Metropolitan Area (Kampala and Wakiso), supporting training coordination, beneficiary engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and post-training activities like employment linkage and business incubation.

This position requires a strong understanding of youth livelihoods, inclusive economic programming, and green job promotion.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Guide youth groups on governance, leadership, and investment.

  • Support youth-led businesses with market research, value chain development, and financial access.

  • Organize and participate in networking events (e.g., business expos, trade fairs).

3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

  • Keep accurate records of participant profiles, training progress, and support services delivered.

  • Conduct follow-up visits to monitor post-training engagement and provide ongoing support.

  • Promote inclusive participation, especially among vulnerable groups such as women, refugees, and persons with disabilities.

  • Ensure all project activities are conducted in line with WIU’s safeguarding and gender equality policies.
