We are looking for qualified people to take up the roles of Education Advisor, MEAL Advisor, District Support Coordinator, Accountant, Finance Officer and Operations officer who will operate from our country office in Kampala Uganda, with frequent travel to other locations as the programme may require. The Education Advisor will provide advice to and capacity development of our education partners.
Job description:
The Education Advisor will provide technical support focusing on training of partners, Development of Teaching Learning Support Materials (TLSMs), capacity development of WOB staff, planning, implementation and monitoring of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
Guidance and Counseling: Provide advice on academic choices, career paths, and educational goals.
Academic Planning: Assist students in selecting courses, creating academic plans, and meeting graduation requirements.
Application Assistance: Help students with college or scholarship applications, including writing and reviewing personal statements.
Career Exploration: Offer information on career opportunities, job market trends, and necessary qualifications.
Support Services: Connect students with additional support services, such as tutoring, financial aid, or counseling.
Program Development: Develop and implement educational programs and workshops for students and parents.
Monitoring Progress: Track student progress and make adjustments to academic plans as needed.
Collaboration: Work with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student success.
Information Dissemination: Provide updated information on educational policies, programs, and opportunities.

Qualifications and Competencies
Education: Typically a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field. A master’s degree in education or counseling may be preferred.
Certification: Some positions may require certification in school counseling or a related area.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
Experience: Previous experience in education, counseling, or a related field is often beneficial.
Knowledge: Familiarity with educational systems, career planning, and current trends in education.
