Medical Teams International is hiring a Deployable Logistics Manager with the following duties and responsibilities:
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
1. Country Office Guidance, Support, and Compliance
Provide remote technical capacity-building and quality assurance to country programs on project start-up, large-value procurement, gap filling, audit support, and training.
Advise Country Offices (COs) and provide guidance and technical leadership as the logistics and procurement focal point; facilitate CO input into global initiatives and disseminate relevant information.
Contribute logistics and procurement expertise to long-term processes such as operational planning reviews, proposal development, annual plans and budgeting, quarterly management reports, stock reconciliations, asset reviews, and fleet analysis.
Support COs in managing all assets and equipment including purchasing, tracking, reporting, disposal, verification, and compliance with donor requirements.
Lead periodic reviews of CO logistics and procurement functions through in-country assessments and relevant management tools.
2. Surge Support
Provide functional leadership in emergency response settings including assessment, design, start-up, budgeting, and implementation of emergency supply chain activities across multiple projects, working closely with Global Programs and surge teams.
Provide rapid-response workforce planning, including recruitment, intensive training, and supportive management of logistics, procurement, and administrative staff.
Coordinate and report on Logistics Cluster activities and act as civil-military liaison in emergencies.
Coordinate and provide technical input into international procurement, shipping, and customs clearance for medicines, medical supplies, imported goods, and Gifts-in-Kind (GIK).
Lead or oversee rapid procurement scaling, including identifying sourcing options, managing supply pipelines, contracting suppliers, and ensuring fraud and operational risk mitigation in collaboration with finance and programs teams.
Oversee inventory and warehouse management across multiple projects, including GIK management, temporary warehouses, transit hubs, contingency stock, and medical/non-medical donations.
3. Global Initiatives and Headquarters
Serve as focal point for medicine management within the Global Logistics team, providing leadership, guidance, and training.
Lead or support development and rollout of global logistics and procurement initiatives (e.g., Minimum Standards & Maturity Framework, preparedness activities).
Support the Logistics and Procurement Standards Specialist in developing logistics standards, global operations assessment tools, and related tools.
Support GIK projects including sourcing, process improvement, and inventory management.
Lead or support strategic sourcing of emergency response commodities such as pharmaceuticals, vehicles, and coordination with humanitarian procurement centers.
Contribute to developing training materials, policies, and processes.
4. Other Duties
Utilize volunteers wherever possible.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education, Licenses & Certifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field(Certification in Humanitarian Logistics or equivalent humanitarian logistics experience may substitute.)
Valid passport
Valid driver’s license
Preferred
Medical Supply Chain Management certification
Relevant qualifications or training courses
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years leading and managing medical supply chains in humanitarian contexts
Minimum 5 years leading emergency response supply chain functions at country level, including first-wave disaster response
Minimum 3 years experience in start-up and implementation of donor-funded projects with strong knowledge of donor rules and regulations
Minimum 2 years contributing to market and rapid needs assessments and emergency response planning
Broad humanitarian operations experience, ideally across multiple emergencies and INGOs
Experience working with an ERP (e.g., Unit 4) or other supply chain IT systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge
Risk and fraud identification/management, including mitigation strategies
Technical expertise across logistics and supply chain (procurement, warehousing, fleet, distributions)
Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, emergency response, and child protection standards

Skills
Strong people management and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate, coach, and manage performance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
