Job Title: Customs Declarations Supervisor
Organisation: Multilines International Limited
Duty Station: Nakawa, Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer
The Customs Declarations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accurate ano timely preparation, submission, and processing of customs declarations in compliance with the relevant international trade laws and local customs regulations particularly the East African Community Customs Management Act(EACCMA) . This role ensures that all shipments meet regulatory requirements while optimizing efficiency and minimizing delays or penalties.

How to Apply
Customs Declaration Management:
Supervise and oversee the preparation and submission of import, export, and transit declarations in compliance with customs regulations in the department.
Ensure all required documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits, certificates of origin, etc.) are complete and accurate before submission.
Monitor customs entry processes to ensure timely clearance of shipments and address any issues that may arise.
Keep up to date with customs laws, trade regulations, and tariff changes to ensure full compliance.
Supervise a team of customs clerks and declaration officers, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency in their work.
Assign and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and balanced workloads within the team.
Utilize customs declaration software (e.g., ASYCUDA), or company-specific platforms) to process declarations efficiently.
Maintain proper records of all customs declarations, ensuring they are easily retrievable for audits or compliance checks.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
Professional certification or diploma in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or trade compliance
5+ years of experience in customs declarations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Familiarity with import/export documentation and procedures across multiple regions (if applicable)
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and international trade compliance.
Proficiency in customs declaration systems and software (e.g., ASYCUDA and other regional platforms)
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with customs authorities and other stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
