Role Overview
KCB Bank Uganda is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Banker – Custody Services to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting custody operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing client relationships, and maintaining the integrity of custody transactions and records.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Client Reporting: Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for custody clients.
Revenue Management: Generate invoices and verify that all revenue is accurately collected from custody clients.
Risk & Compliance Monitoring: Mitigate operational risk by adhering to internal policies and remaining updated on market and regulatory developments.
Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong working relationships with key market players including investment managers, fund administrators, stockbrokers, CDSC, CMA, USE, and registrars in line with existing Service Level Agreements.
Audit & Regulatory Support: Assist the Manager – Investor Services during internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Operations Oversight: Review and validate daily banking operations reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Transaction Settlements: Coordinate the settlement of CDSC transactions on behalf of corporate clients.
Pension/Withdrawal Processing: Handle timely processing of pension and withdrawal payments for custody clients.
Regulatory Reporting: Accurately prepare and submit required regulatory returns within prescribed deadlines.
Document Management: Oversee safekeeping and administration of custody documents and ensure secure record handling.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic & Professional Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
Professional certifications in custody, capital markets, or banking operations are an added advantage.
A Master’s degree in a business-related discipline is considered an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Custody Services, USE/CDSC operations, banking operations, customer service, relationship management, or relevant financial services functions.
Strong understanding of financial instruments, settlement processes, and regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to maintain accurate records and provide excellent client service.
