Job Description
Job Title: Core Store Technician
Organisation: Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Undertake daily maintenance of the Core store and geosample laboratory
Participate in data management, archival, and updating of electronic databases with respect to physical geological samples received from oil and gas activities
Prepare and maintain an updated sample database for cores, cuttings, gas, crude oil, water, and other related samples
Regularly monitor humidity and temperature readings in the Core store and report any anomalies to the Line Supervisor
Undertake routine Core store cleaning and maintenance/servicing of Core Store equipment
Attend to data requests pertaining to geosamples.
Participate in the procurement of consumables and equipment whenever required.
Undertake storage, curation, and organization of samples in the Core Store
Undertake any other assignments as may be directed from time to time
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Diploma in Oil and Gas Engineering, Petroleum Geosciences, Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized institution
