Job Description
Job Title: Communications Associate
Organisation: Kinua Foundation
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and creative Communications Associate to join our team and help amplify our impact.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Capture high quality photos and videos that tell powerful stories about our work.
Produce short documentaries, interviews, and social media video content.
Manage and grow the organisation’s social media platforms.
Draft engaging content for online campaigns, newsletters, and reports.
Support media relations, press engagements, and brand visibility activities.
Maintain a digital archive of media assets.
Support event documentation and communications planning.
Contribute to PR initiatives that build trust and visibility for Kinua Foundation.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A diploma or degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Multimedia Production, or a related field.
At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in communications or media production.
Experience working with non governmental organisations(NGOs) and community based organisations(CBOs) is an added advantage.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of child protection principles, since our NGO works closely with children and prioritises their safety and well-being in all programmes and communications.
Core Competencies
Strong storytelling ability across video, photo, and written formats.
Proficiency in videography and photography, including editing software.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Social media management expertise, including analytics and content strategy.
Creativity, attention to detail, and an eye for compelling visuals.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Commitment to gender equality and community empowerment.
Basic knowledge of branding and PR is an added advantage.
