Job Description
As a Commercial Legal Summer Associate, you will support the legal team in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, developing internal legal templates, improving workflows, and maintaining legal documentation systems. You’ll work closely with various departments including commercial, operations, and supply chain to ensure contracts meet both legal and business needs. The internship provides mentorship from experienced legal professionals and exposure to global legal operations in the healthcare access space, contributing directly to the company’s mission to expand access to essential medicines.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Review and draft commercial contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, and partnership documents
Assist in developing and maintaining internal contract templates and scalable legal workflows
Collaborate with commercial, operations, and supply chain teams to align contract terms with business goals
Help manage internal databases, version control, and filing systems for legal documents
Identify and communicate potential legal risks in agreements and suggest mitigation strategies
Prepare contract summaries and guidance materials for non-legal stakeholders
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Enrolled in a law degree (LLB or JD equivalent) or recent graduate
Strong interest in commercial law and contract management
Legal research and writing skills
Prior internship or coursework related to contract law is a plus
Competencies:
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong problem-solving mindset
Passion for global health equity and mission-driven work
