Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of vaccines and other temperature-sensitive medical supplies stored in the cold chain equipment.
Temperature Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record temperature levels of cold chain equipment, such as refrigerators and freezers, to ensure that vaccines and other medical supplies are stored within the recommended temperature range.
Cold Chain Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of cold chain equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent equipment breakdowns.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of vaccine and medical supply inventories, temperature monitoring logs, maintenance records, and other relevant documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that cold chain equipment meets quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements for the storage and handling of vaccines and other medical supplies.
Transportation: Assist in the transportation of vaccines and medical supplies to healthcare facilities and vaccination sites, ensuring that proper cold chain protocols are followed during transit.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to healthcare staff on cold chain management practices, including proper storage, handling, and transportation of vaccines and medical supplies.
Emergency Response: Assist in emergency response activities, such as vaccine distribution during disease outbreaks or natural disasters, ensuring that cold chain integrity is maintained throughout the process.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional training or certification in cold chain management, logistics, or a related field may be beneficial.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is essential for accurately monitoring temperature levels, recording data, and maintaining inventory records.
Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills are necessary for managing inventory levels, scheduling maintenance tasks, and ensuring that vaccines and medical supplies are properly stored and handled.
Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are important for coordinating with healthcare staff, transportation providers, and other stakeholders involved in cold chain management.
Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, address temperature excursions, and respond to unexpected challenges in cold chain management.
Physical Stamina: Cold chain assistants may be required to lift and move heavy boxes of vaccines and medical supplies, so physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks are important.
