Job Description
The Clinic Diet Coordinator will be responsible for designing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans for patients within a clinical setting. This role involves developing and maintaining diet and nutrition protocols, educating staff, monitoring dietary compliance, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The coordinator will work closely with healthcare professionals to assess dietary needs, adjust nutrition plans based on patient outcomes, and provide nutritional counseling. The role also includes administrative duties such as ordering supplies, record-keeping, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain clinical nutrition policies and procedures
Create individualized nutrition plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Provide diet and nutritional counseling to patients
Monitor patient diet progress and adjust plans as needed
Train and educate production staff on dietary standards and protocols
Ensure compliance with nutrition-related health and safety regulations
Analyze dietary data to inform care planning
Oversee food service operations in the clinical setting, including inventory management
Maintain sanitation and quality control standards in the kitchen
Keep accurate patient dietary records and documentation
Participate in diet quality improvement initiatives and audits
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of a Diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
At least 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical or hospital environment
Strong understanding of clinical nutrition protocols and dietary standards
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with medical teams and patients
Proficiency in data analysis related to nutritional planning
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lead dietary education programs for staff
Familiarity with sanitation and food safety requirements
Basic computer literacy
