Job Description
The CTO will oversee all aspects of technology strategy, infrastructure, and development at Havana Group. This includes building and leading the technology team, ensuring robust cybersecurity measures, evaluating emerging technologies, and maintaining reliable, scalable systems that support business operations and expansion. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience, strong technical knowledge, and a strategic mindset.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a company-wide technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
Lead, mentor, and manage the technology team to foster innovation and accountability.
Identify and integrate emerging technologies to drive business growth.
Oversee cybersecurity measures to protect data and company assets.
Manage relationships with external vendors and tech partners.
Prepare and oversee the technology department’s budget and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with relevant IT regulations and industry standards.
Oversee product lifecycle from design to deployment ensuring quality and timeliness.
Maintain a secure, scalable, and efficient technology infrastructure.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology with organizational goals.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years in a senior technology leadership role (e.g., CTO, VP of Engineering).
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing technical teams.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strategic and innovative mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Deep understanding of regulatory environments (GDPR, POPIA, etc.).
Strong expertise in software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and cloud computing.
Experience in scaling technology within high-growth organizations.
