Job Description
The COO will oversee multi-department operations (sales, ticketing, customer service, finance/ops), translate strategy into executable plans, and establish robust processes, KPIs, and governance. The role includes designing and implementing policies and procedures, managing cross-functional teams, aligning budgets and resources to priorities, and building operational capabilities (systems, tools, and talent). The COO will monitor performance, mitigate risks, and spearhead initiatives that expand market share, improve service quality, and enhance profitability.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments; ensure service quality and efficiency.
Translate the company strategy into operational roadmaps, OKRs/KPIs, and dashboards.
Optimize processes, policies, and SOPs to improve productivity, cost control, and compliance.
Lead cross-functional teams; coach managers; drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Partner with the CEO on growth initiatives, partnerships, and market expansion plans.
Align budgets, resources, and capacity planning with business priorities.
Implement modern business tools/systems; strengthen data-driven decision-making.
Monitor risk, governance, and regulatory adherence within the travel/tourism context.
Report performance insights and recommendations to the executive team and board-level stakeholders.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum age: 40+ years.
Experience: At least 10 years proven leadership in travel, tourism, or related industries.
Strong track record in business management, marketing, and operations.
Excellent strategic planning, execution, and organizational design skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and improve efficiency at scale.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities; stakeholder management strength.
Computer savvy; proficient with modern business tools and systems (analytics/CRM/ERP).
Capable of developing and implementing policies, procedures, and growth strategies.
Bilingual (French) is an advantage (not mandatory).
