Job Description
Job Title: Brand Manager Print and NCU
Organisation: Nation Media Group (NMG)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute marketing strategies that prioritize digital touchpoints to grow the print and NCU brands while ensuring alignment with Nation Media’s digital-first vision.
Design and implement cross channel marketing campaigns across print, digital, and courier services touch points leveraging synergies between platforms to maximize audience reach, engagement, and revenue generation.
Develop initiatives that support the company’s brands and reputation across all media ensuring consistency and coherence in all messaging and content in order to grow awareness, revenue and market share of print media and NCU by incorporating innovative digital solutions.
Oversee the Customer Service team to ensure excellent support across digital, print, and courier service touchpoints to optimize service delivery and enhance overall customer experience.
Plan and execute community outreach programs and on-ground activations that drive brand visibility and customer engagement.
Work closely with Editorial, Circulation, and Courier teams to align marketing efforts with the company’s strategic objectives to deliver new growth channels across audiences and platforms.
Utilize market research and consumer insights to develop data-driven strategies that identify emerging trends in both digital and traditional media.
Manage the marketing budget for Print, NCU and Customer Service ensuring all marketing activities are financially sound and deliver return on investment.
Regularly monitor performance metrics and report on the impact of marketing activities on revenue generation across digital and traditional media channels.
Develop and execute digital optimized innovative brand campaigns that motivate both external and internal audiences.
Identify and develop strategic partnerships and sponsorships that enhance brand visibility and generate new revenue opportunities while ensuring alignment with brand objectives
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or any related field from an accredited institution.
Professional: Certification or Diploma in Digital Marketing, Professional Marketing, or Communication (e.g., CIM, or similar qualifications) is an added advantage.
Experience:
3-5 years’ experience in brand management, marketing, and communication, with a focus on both digital and traditional media.
Experience in managing brands within a media organization, FMCG, or related industry is preferred.
Core Competencies
Good working knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media platforms, and content marketing as well as a strong understanding of traditional media operations (Mandatory)
Ability to formulate and execute strategies that balance the needs of traditional print media with the company’s digital-first strategy.
Proven experience in managing complex, multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, print, and courier services simultaneously with effective prioritization and attention to detail.
Ability to drive customer-centric initiatives that enhance brand loyalty and optimize service delivery across all touchpoints.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including editorial, circulation, courier, and customer service departments.
Strong financial skills to manage marketing budgets, track performance metrics, and ensure that all activities deliver a return on investment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and the resolve to handle tight deadlines and changing priorities.
