Bank of India (Uganda) Limited officially started operations on 18th -June-2012 by opening its first branch in Kampala-Uganda. We have bouquet of personal and corporate banking, Instant Fund Transfers and lucrative Foreign Exchange products which can be further be customized to satisfy customer requirements.
Our bank is wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of India, one of the largest public sector banks in India, established in 1906 and having banking expertise and tradition of over 100 years. The Bank has over 5000 branches in India spread over all states/ union territories including specialized branches. These branches are controlled through 54 Zonal Offices. There are 60 branches/ offices and 5 Subsidiaries and 1 joint venture abroad.

To assist in implementing treasury and investment policy of the Bank
To assist in monitoring/maintaining Net overnight open position limit (NOOPL) and daylight open position for treasury operations
Preparing and sending of BOU returns lice Daily Forex Monitoring Report Daly Forex Transactions Report and other treasury reports if any
To assist in monitoring P/L exchange earned position
To assist in monitoring activities of inter- Bank deal posted in the dealing room
To assist in reconciling and monitoring the movement in local foreign currency I Nostro accounts in respect of treasury
To assist in monitoring Bank’s fund positions both in domestic and foreign currencies and maintaining CRR requirements
To assist in funding of Nostro accounts, RTGS/EFT clearing account I other foreign currency account
Liaison with corporate client deals in foreign exchange for better customer service and business development
To assist in monitoring interest rates scenario of liquidity of the Bank and convene the same to top management to decide on the issues of investment in Uganda Government securities
Ensure that all risks attached to treasury activities including forex trading merchant covering interbank activities liquidity management, funding of nostro etc are regularly and properly evaluated monitored and managed
Prepare end of month interest accrual statement for inter bank placements and Government securities
To assist in monitoring the secondary market movements and manage the available for sale/held for trading securities portfolio of the bank
Ensure that regulatory requirement of treasury are fulfilled at all times l e CRR LCR, NSFR. LR etc
Ensure that the top management services periodic reports on the current state of treasury
Any other duties assigned to you by the Bank from time to time
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking, or a related field.
Professional certifications in treasury, risk management, or financial markets (e.g., CFA, CPA, or Treasury Dealer certification) are an added advantage.
Proven experience in treasury operations, dealing in forex, money markets, or liquidity management.
Strong understanding of banking products, financial instruments, and capital markets.
Proficiency in treasury management systems and financial software.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and reporting requirements in banking operations.
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
