Job Description
As a Banking Advisor – Affluent, you will work closely with a team of Private Advisors to manage and expand a portfolio of RMB Private Clients. Your responsibilities will include analyzing client portfolios, identifying banking and investment opportunities, providing sound financial advice, and ensuring client satisfaction. The role also involves lead generation, stakeholder management, compliance monitoring, and performance reporting. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, financially astute, and proactive in driving business growth.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of affluent clients in collaboration with Private Advisors
Analyze client portfolios and proactively identify financial solutions to meet client needs
Assist with sales, acquisition, and retention of high-net-worth clients
Deliver exceptional service and advice that exceeds customer expectations
Support sales through lead generation and active management of the leads pipeline
Monitor service levels and uphold financial performance targets
Promote customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships through consistent service excellence
Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and governance standards
Maintain accurate records and compile reports to support business decisions
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within the team
Promote internal collaboration across FNB and the FirstRand Group
Understand and cross-sell a full range of financial services and banking solutions
Actively seek personal development opportunities and respond to feedback
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
8. Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
Preferred: FAIS accreditation (RE qualification)
2–3 years of experience in a Sales or Service role within a financial environment
Strong client relationship management and advisory skills
High level of professionalism, financial acumen, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong administrative, analytical, and reporting capabilities
Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment
