Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Relationship Manager – SME

Job Summary
As an Assistant Relationship Manager – SME, you will be responsible for driving the sales and growth of SME assets, liabilities, and other bank products, as per targets set by the Branch Manager. You will provide frontline customer support, manage SME relationships, and facilitate efficient service delivery at the branch.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Drive sales of SME banking products to both new and existing customers.
Open new accounts and manage changes to existing relationships.
Handle initial credit assessments and support lending processes.
Provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and feedback.
Mobilize deposits and promote bank services to potential and current clients.
Lead and support the branch’s customer service function, including assisting the Customer Care Representative.
Address inquiries related to debit and credit cards, including encashments.
Gather customer data to strengthen relationship management.
Support share IPO-related transactions and activities.
Conduct preliminary assessments for customers seeking financial facilities, ensuring proper documentation.
Manage reporting duties including:
Business banking returns
Customer care reports
Sales returns
Executive Summary inputs
Contributions to the annual branch budget
Perform market intelligence gathering and client sales calls.
Handle and escalate customer complaints, ensuring proper documentation in the complaints register.
Guide customers through loan applications and appraisal processes.
Assist in explaining and signing of offer letters, especially for check-off loans.
Ensure timely and complete loan documentation, from application to drawdown.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A university degree in a relevant business-related discipline.
A professional banking qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales and customer service, particularly with SME clients.
Ability to assess and structure SME lending solutions.
In-depth knowledge of banking products, services, and credit processes.
Familiarity with Digital Financial Services and their application in customer engagement.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Results-driven with a passion for performance and innovation.
Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing business environments.
Proficient in credit analysis systems and customer issue resolution.
