Job Summary:
Metropolitan International University is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant IT Officer – eLearning to support the development and implementation of digital learning initiatives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to create engaging eLearning content, support staff in using educational technologies, and contribute to the enhancement of the University’s digital learning environment.

Collaborate with eLearning Technologists to design and develop high-quality digital learning resources.
Provide guidance and support to academic staff in the integration of technology into teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
Assist in delivering user-centered services within the Teaching, Learning, and Student Support team.
Offer technical assistance for the University’s Digital Learning Environment (DLE).
Actively participate in University-wide eLearning initiatives and communities of practice.
Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation related to eLearning activities.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field.
Ensure adherence to University policies, including health and safety, equality, diversity, inclusion, and data governance.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Person Specification:
Essential:
Experience in designing learner-centered educational materials or activities.
Familiarity with the end-to-end process of eLearning content development, including planning, design, testing, and evaluation.
Sound knowledge of online learning pedagogy and effective digital teaching strategies.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, especially when working with subject matter experts and academic staff.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
A strong commitment to continuous professional development.
Hands-on experience with eLearning tools, software, and web-based applications.
Desirable:
Knowledge of instructional design principles and pedagogy specific to eLearning.
Skills in user experience (UX) and accessibility design/testing.
Experience with multimedia production, including video and audio editing.
Proficiency in coding languages such as JavaScript or other scripting tools.
Qualification:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in an eLearning or educational technology role.
