Job Description
Job Title: Analyst, Portfolio, Digital Lending

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
To support Portfolio Managers with the scored and intuitive lending strategies by collating, designing and developing credit risk reports to give insights across the credit lifecycle. To increase operational efficiencies in credit by use of data to support process automation and effective decision making. To enhance credit risk management by implementing fraud controls and conducting detailed analysis on the drivers of portfolio performance.
Develop high quality consistent structured risk reports to be used by various stakeholders. Design and consolidate risk reports that include a balance of risk data, quantitative analysis, interpretation and qualitative explanations to provide insights to stakeholders. Differentiate key management action points and findings with less impact on the portfolio for ease of interpretation.
Provide input to and assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives and tactical solutions across the credit spectrum in order to drive continuous improvement of procedures, processes and systems.
Troubleshoot any gaps along the credit scoring process from data aggregation to customer utilization including design of controls to ensure accurate implementation of credit scoring rules.
Investigate credit scoring rules to determine the extent to which they achieve their intended risk mitigation purpose.
Analyse credit portfolio to identify key risks and opportunities within the portfolio. Analyse and interpret data to identify pockets of concentration of risk, adherence with risk appetite metrices and under-utilised areas of opportunity per sector, sub-sector and customer level.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
First Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance and Accounting, or related
3-4 year Banking experience, in particular pertaining to credit risk management, banking processes, products & the operation. Understand the credit life cycle & risk related components & steps pertaining to the Bank.
1-2 years experience in a data science and data analytics related role.
Comprehensive exposure to legal administrative requirements pertaining to the end-to-end rehabilitation & recoveries processes & systems
