About the Role

DHL Supply Chain Uganda is seeking a Finance Administrator to support its Finance Department in executing a range of accounting, financial reporting, and business support functions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency through accurate financial processing, reporting, and timely support to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, an understanding of financial principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

How to Apply

  • Supplier Management:

    • Ensure timely invoice processing, appropriate approvals, and on-time payments to support uninterrupted business operations.

  • Client Billing and Documentation:

    • Prepare client invoices, credit notes, supporting documents, and client billing packs.

  • Transaction Processing:

    • Monitor and process daily contract-related transactions and ensure accurate cost allocations.

  • Third-Party Management:

    • Manage recharges and payments to third-party transport contractors.

  • Balance Sheet & Reconciliations:

    • Handle account reconciliations and manage specific balance sheet accounts assigned by the Finance Manager.

  • Inventory Oversight:

    • Attend monthly stock counts, ensure sign-offs, and maintain proper documentation.

  • Reporting:

    • Prepare weekly and monthly financial and operational reports.

  • Insurance Administration:

    • Support general insurance administration and monthly claims tracking.

  • Accounts Receivable:

    • Maintain and reconcile customer debtor statements daily, weekly, and monthly.

    • Lead debt collection efforts and provide regular progress updates to the Finance and General Managers.

  • Invoice & PO Management:

    • Issue pro forma invoices and prepare unbilled revenue and pending PO trackers.

    • Ensure accurate and timely issuance of Site and Supplier Purchase Orders in line with budgeted contract rates.

  • Revenue Management:

    • Support accurate invoicing of all contract revenue streams and prepare debtor accounts within the business unit.

  • Operational Support:

    • Provide tactical support to Site Operation Leads and Contract Accountants.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Contribute to finance process improvement initiatives and special projects.

  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager or Contract Accountant.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field

  • Basic Accounting Knowledge; Level 1 CPA or ACCA required

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar finance role

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Suite

  • Strong understanding of Ugandan income tax and VAT regulations

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration abilities

  • Professional certification in accounting or auditing is an added advantage
