Job Description
The AC Repair Technician will diagnose and fix HVAC-related malfunctions, perform regular maintenance, and install new air conditioning systems as per industry standards. The role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a good understanding of HVAC system components. The technician will work with residential and commercial clients and is expected to uphold safety standards while ensuring effective communication and service delivery.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair faults in air conditioning systems, including refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, and airflow issues
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as coil cleaning, filter replacement, and system performance checks
Install HVAC systems following manufacturer specifications and safety protocols
Communicate clearly with clients regarding repair needs, cost estimates, and energy-efficient solutions
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and local building codes during installations and service calls
Provide feedback and support on smart HVAC technologies and energy-saving measures

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
First School Leaving Certificate, SSCE, OND, or relevant vocational training in HVAC systems or refrigeration
1–3 years of hands-on experience in AC repair, maintenance, and installation
EPA 608 Certification or equivalent (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work independently or in a team, especially in fast-paced environments
Familiarity with ductless mini-split systems and smart HVAC technologies (preferred)
