Job Description
This role acts as the right hand of the Executive Director, enabling their focus on strategic priorities by managing schedules, briefings, documents, and cross-team alignment. The role involves operational support, partnership oversight, project coordination, reporting, and executive communication. The Lead will maintain high discretion while navigating complex internal and external stakeholder environments, ensuring timely execution of critical initiatives and representation of PLP’s brand and mission.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Executive Office Operational Support:
Manage ED’s calendar, travel logistics, and briefing materials.
Track decisions, tasks, and deliverables involving the ED.
Draft and edit briefs, presentations, and meeting reports.
Maintain confidentiality and control access to ED’s information.
Partnerships & External Engagement Oversight:
Oversee partner research and pipeline development.
Coordinate proposal writing, grants, and documentation.
Maintain CRM records and ensure follow-ups.
Lead preparation for external events and engagements.
Cross-Functional Project Management:
Coordinate interdepartmental projects involving the Executive Office.
Provide reports and dashboards for strategic decision-making.
Document and scale pilot projects and new initiatives.
Executive Communications Support:
Curate stories and campaigns around ED’s engagements.
Collaborate with communications team for digital storytelling.
Prepare summaries and visuals for social media and presentations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor's in Business Administration, International Relations, Project Management, Communications, or related field.
Master’s degree (MBA, MPA) is an added advantage.
Experience:
3–5 years in executive support, partnerships, project management, or strategic roles.
Experience in nonprofits, tech, education, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools (e.g., Asana).
Skilled in writing high-level documents, social media, and CRM systems.
Core Competencies:
Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
High attention to detail, confidentiality, and strategic thinking.
Ability to coordinate teams and manage competing priorities effectively.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
Strong cultural awareness and teamwork orientation.
Organizational Fit:
Aligned with PLP’s mission to empower African youth through tech.
Professional, collaborative, and culturally aware.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
Familiarity with Africa’s digital skills and tech ecosystem.
Background in event planning or executive-level communication.
