Education Institution
Kampala, Uganda
Established in 1998, Abaana Ministries is a Christian-based charity dedicated to transforming the lives of impoverished children and their communities in Africa. The name "Abaana," meaning "children" in Luganda, reflects the organization's focus on youth empowerment. Abaana's mission encompasses building schools, sponsoring education, providing safe havens for street-connected children, and promoting health and sanitation.
The organization has constructed 17 primary schools in Uganda, currently serving approximately 7,000 children, and sponsors over 1,900 students by covering school fees, materials, uniforms, and basic medical care. Abaana also collaborates with local agencies to assist children living on the streets of Kampala, offering shelter and working towards family reunification.
The charity engages volunteers in various fundraising activities, fostering a culture of community involvement and service. Abaana upholds core values of compassion, integrity, and empowerment, striving to make a lasting impact on the lives of African children.
