Job Description
Reporting to the Tyre Management Services Team Leader, the Yard Manager ensures efficient and safe operations of tyre management activities. The role involves supervising Yard Supervisors, overseeing tyre inspection, repairs, and dispatch processes, maintaining accurate inventory records, and enforcing safety and compliance protocols. The Yard Manager coordinates closely with internal departments to align yard activities with business objectives and serves as the key point of contact for senior management regarding yard performance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervisory & Leadership
Lead Yard Supervisors to ensure daily operational efficiency
Monitor staff performance and conduct evaluations
Foster a safety-first, continuous improvement culture
Yard Operations & Workflow Management
Oversee tyre inspection, sorting, storage, dispatch
Coordinate timely tyre repairs, retreading, and disposals
Maintain clean and organized yard conditions
Inventory & Stock Management
Track inventory and maintain accurate stock documentation
Implement procedures to minimize loss and optimize usage
Liaise with procurement for efficient stock replenishment
Compliance & Safety
Enforce regulatory and safety protocols
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
Ensure adherence to environmental standards
Communication & Coordination
Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and operations teams
Maintain structured reporting and performance documentation
Serve as a liaison between yard operations and senior management

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in tyre management, yard operations, warehousing, or logistics
At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Proven background in tyre types, repairs, retreading, and disposal
Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Safety-conscious mindset with attention to detail
Workflow optimization and inventory management
Leadership and team development capabilities
