Job Overview
Donswift Company is seeking a qualified and experienced Veterinary Doctor to support livestock value chains through technical advisory, farmer training, and input management.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Input Needs Assessment: Identify farmer demand for veterinary inputs (drugs, feeds, vaccines, chicks, etc.) in collaboration with branch managers.
Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and availability of affordable, relevant veterinary products.
Farmer Training & Extension: Conduct training on poultry, goat, and cattle production with a focus on scalability and profitability.
Market Access Support: Collaborate with the Foods Team to connect farmers with reliable markets for livestock and livestock products.
Value Chain Development: Analyze and document trends, demand, and opportunities in livestock production and input sectors.
Technical Advisory: Provide continuous veterinary support and extension services to individual farmers and farmer groups.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM), or
Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production and Management from a recognized institution.
Experience:
Proven track record in managing commercial livestock value chains (poultry, goats, cattle).
Experience in farmer training, agribusiness, and livestock enterprise management.
Skills:
Strong expertise in animal health, nutrition, and production.
Knowledge of livestock input supply chains and markets.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and within rural community settings.
