Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and empathetic UI/UX Designer to lead the creation of intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly digital experiences across RTV’s platforms. This role involves designing products that work seamlessly in low-bandwidth and field-based contexts, ensuring inclusivity for a wide range of users. You’ll collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to translate user needs into high-quality designs that support our mission.

How to Apply

Human-Centered Product Design

  • Conduct field-based user research, usability testing, and contextual inquiries to understand user behavior and needs in rural and low-resource settings.

  • Develop user personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes that address real-world challenges.

  • Advocate for inclusive and localized design practices suitable for both low-literacy users and tech-savvy stakeholders.

Interface & Interaction Design

  • Design responsive, intuitive interfaces for web and mobile platforms using tools like Figma.

  • Produce polished mockups and interactive prototypes for complex data capture and workflow scenarios.

  • Apply RTV’s Design System to ensure visual and functional consistency, while identifying UI gaps and edge cases.

Design Implementation Support

  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure accurate, accessible implementation of designs.

  • Prepare annotated specs, assets, and interaction guidelines to facilitate smooth design-development handoff.

  • Support sprint planning, QA reviews, and bug triaging to uphold a high-quality user experience from design to deployment.

Feedback-Driven Iteration

  • Refine designs based on user feedback, usability test results, and performance metrics.

  • Work with the UI/UX Engineer to address pain points and optimize task flows.

  • Contribute to post-launch reviews and documentation to inform future improvements.

Design System Management

  • Maintain consistency across platforms by aligning work with RTV’s Intelligent Design System.

  • Suggest enhancements to existing components and contribute to interface standardization discussions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Actively participate in ideation, planning sessions, design critiques, and product reviews.

  • Work closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, and Developers to co-create meaningful, user-centered solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing digital interfaces for web and mobile platforms.

  • Proficient in Figma and modern UI/UX tools.

  • Strong understanding of responsive, mobile-first design principles.

  • A portfolio showcasing clean, user-centered design work across platforms.
