Bugema University is a private, co-educational institution of higher learning located in Kalagala, Luweero District, Uganda, approximately 33 kilometers northeast of Kampala. Established in 1948 as the Bugema Missionary Training School to train teachers and pastors for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in East Africa, it evolved into Bugema Missionary College and later Bugema Adventist College.
In 1994, it attained university status, and in 1997, it was licensed by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports to operate as a university. Affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bugema University is part of the global Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second-largest Christian school system.
The university offers a diverse range of academic programs across various disciplines, including Business Administration, Education, Theology and Religious Studies, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Health and Allied Sciences, and Social Sciences.
It provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, some in collaboration with international institutions like the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (Kenya), and Central Luzon State University (Philippines). Job Description
The Technician – Health and Allied Sciences will work closely with the Head of Department to ensure that all laboratory and clinical equipment are in optimal condition. They will prepare practical materials and demonstrations for lectures, ensure safety compliance in the labs, and provide direct support to students and faculty in conducting experiments and technical sessions. The position is offered under a three-year renewable contract based on performance.

How to Apply
Maintain laboratory and clinical equipment in proper working condition.
Prepare materials and reagents for practical classes and experiments.
Support teaching staff and students during laboratory sessions.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
Assist in research setups and demonstrations.
Monitor inventory of supplies and request replenishments when necessary.
Contribute to documentation and reporting on lab activities.
Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
A First Class or Second Class Upper Division Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Candidates with a Second Class Lower Division may be considered under special circumstances.
At least an Ordinary Diploma (Credit and above) in the relevant technical field.
Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience at the level of Assistant Technician or equivalent.
For Nursing Technicians: A Diploma in Nursing, two years’ experience, and a valid practicing license.
For Midwifery Technicians: A Diploma in Midwifery, two years’ experience, and a valid practicing license.
Strong technical knowledge and hands-on skills in health sciences equipment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
High attention to detail and safety consciousness.
