Job Description
TASLAF Advocates invites applications for the position of Tax & Accounts Graduate Trainee from highly motivated graduates seeking to build a career in taxation and accounting within a dynamic professional services environment. The role involves hands-on exposure to tax advisory, compliance, financial analysis, and client service engagements across a diverse client portfolio in Uganda and East Africa.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Support preparation and review of tax computations and returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Corporate Tax).
- Assist in tax compliance reviews and client advisory engagements.
- Support accounting tasks including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and preparation of financial summaries.
- Participate in client meetings, research, and drafting of technical tax and accounting memos.
- Assist with tax audits, objections, and correspondence with tax authorities.
- Conduct basic financial analysis and assist in preparation of management reports.
- Support ESG, sustainability, and climate finance-related compliance and reporting work.
- Maintain accurate client files and documentation.
- Assist in risk management and quality assurance processes.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors and partners.
