System Strengthening Manager (Uganda)

Location: Kampala, Uganda (with up to 50% travel)

PEAS is seeking an experienced and strategic education leader to take forward our system strengthening work in Uganda. As System Strengthening Manager, you’ll play a vital role in scaling PEAS’ best practices—such as our school inspections model, school improvement planning, CPD, and safeguarding approaches—across government secondary schools.

You’ll manage a team of School Improvement Officers and build collaborative partnerships with key education stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education and Sports, Directorate of Education Standards, and District Local Governments. You’ll oversee programme implementation, drive national-level engagement, and support the integration of PEAS’ evidence-based tools into government systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in school leadership, education systems, or programme management, and a passion for improving outcomes for learners at scale.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)

  • 4+ years’ experience in education leadership or programme management

  • Strong understanding of Uganda’s education system and secondary school operations

  • Experience working with government stakeholders and managing partnerships

  • Excellent skills in coaching, mentoring, and using data to drive school improvement

  • Confident leading multi-stakeholder projects and building sector-wide influence
