Job Title: Sustainability Associate (Fresher Jobs)

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary:
For our group company, Ibero Uganda Limited, we are looking for a Sustainability Associate. The position will be based in Kampala, Uganda and reports directly to the Farmer Services Unit Manager and functionally to the Regional Responsible Business Program Manager.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the Supply Chain Integrity Program (SCIP) in Uganda. SCIP is a NKG program that aims to enable NKG’s companies to meet supply chain due diligence requirements by adopting a management approach ensuring economic viability. The Sustainability Associate shall be responsible for leading:
The business partner due diligence procedures.
Assessment of human rights risks in our supply chain.
Distribution of the NKG Supplier Code of Conduct.
The implementation of our grievance mechanism
Environmental and Social Governance (ESG), and environmental stewardship within local operations.
Lead the local implementation and maintenance ESG structures and systems, including Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) to meet both internal and external regulatory requirements.
Lead the implementation and monitoring of the environment and climate action plans.
Sustainability Data Management and Reporting
Coordinate the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date sustainability records. This shall include the set-up and management of various data collection tools and management of data software(s).
Lead the annual data collection for group sustainability reporting.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor´s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or similar.
Experience with ESG systems and structures is a plus
Demonstrated experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
High level of personal integrity and empathy.
High resilience, reliability as well as ability to manage deadlines.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive. work relationships with all stakeholders.
