Job Description
The Supervisor Customs Declaration will report to the Head of Declarations and will be responsible for supervising the customs brokerage process, including accurate tax computation, documentation, cargo release, and compliance with customs regulations. The role involves liaising with various departments, supporting staff development, managing queries with URA, generating customs reports, and assisting with bond management. The candidate will play a critical role in facilitating smooth logistics operations and delivering high-quality customs services to clients.

How to Apply
Participate in reviewing and developing customs clearance procedures for imports and exports
Coordinate with Commercial, Projects, Oil & Gas, Aid & Relief, and Container Tracking sections for clearance planning
Ensure safety compliance for cargo, equipment, and staff
Receive and review allocated files for customs declaration
Compute applicable taxes (customs duties, excise duties, VAT)
Prepare, enter, and submit declarations and worksheets for payment approval
Liaise with URA for cargo clearance and resolve post-clearance audit findings
Support bond management and retirement, including follow-up on vehicle logbooks
Monitor, train, and support staff in the customs declaration section
Liaise with clients on customs regulation changes and assist Bonds team in compliance reporting
Prepare and submit timely reports to the Head of Customs Declarations
Update the cargo tracking system with relevant documentation and status updates
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Transport, Procurement, Supplies, or Logistics Management
Certificate in Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding
Certificate in Dangerous Goods (IATA)
Knowledge of BWIMS, and proficiency in ASYCUDA with active login credentials
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in a reputable freight forwarding company
Personal Attributes:
Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
High integrity and adherence to ethical standards
Ability to work long, irregular hours and meet deadlines
Computer proficiency in relevant applications
