How to Apply

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a loyalty programme to ensure brand loyalty and patronage

  • Promote and sustain positive brand recognition

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability

  • Manages the business’ budget including monitoring expenses and minimizing waste

  • Ensure that the store is properly stocked; manage inventory levels to prevent

  • shortages, expiries and overstocking

  • Set up organizational structure in departments, design roles and reporting structure for subordinate staff

  • Hire, train and supervise store staff, ensuring that they provide excellent customer service and follow company policies and procedures

  • Design and direct continuous teachings and trainings for staff to ensure up to date knowledge in company-specific and industry procedures and practices

  • Ensure that the business is compliant with relevant laws and requirements

  • Organize and direct regular stock taking activities to maintain accurate records of stocks

  • Identify and sign-on appropriate external service providers where necessary

  • Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for staff and customers

  • Arrange promotions and promotional activities with clear and set business objectives

  • Monitor and analyze sales and customer data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing, relevant product range and quality products

  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Manage and guide a positive brand image and presence

  • Maintain positive social presence and public relation

  • Stay informed about market trends, new products and competitors to make informed business decisions and maintain a competitive edge

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of staff and provide feedback and coaching to promote professional growth

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Supermarket Manager or in a similar role

  • Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices

  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations and standards

  • Strong understanding of financial management principles

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods


Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate a team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers effectively

  • Observe reporting structures

  • Strong organizational multitasking abilities to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks

  • Sound and relevant financial management skills to analyze financial data and make informed decisions

  • Up to date with current trends and state of affairs in the country and relevant locale for most appropriate decision making

  • Open-minded and creative

  • Knowledge of supermarket operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and customer service
