Position Title: Structural Steel Designer (Open to Kenyan and Ugandan Nationals)
Job Summary
On behalf of our client, we are looking to hire a highly skilled Structural Steel Designer responsible for producing detailed structural designs and plans for steel frameworks and components. This position requires proficiency in engineering software, knowledge of relevant design codes, and the ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, fabricators, and construction professionals to bring designs from concept to execution.

How to Apply
Conduct structural analysis and design for steel buildings, warehouses, and industrial structures using engineering software and applicable codes.
Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
Ensure safety, structural integrity, and compliance with industry standards.
Review construction materials and techniques to ensure they align with design and structural criteria.
Provide technical input for project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling.
Create accurate shop drawings and steel erection plans from architectural and structural layouts.
Apply software such as STAAD.Pro, Master Series, Tekla Designer, and MBS for analysis and connection design.
Use CAD tools to produce precise 2D/3D steel models and detailing.
Interpret engineering drawings and make necessary revisions based on design updates or client feedback.
Maintain and organize all design documentation and project records.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
Experience:
Proven experience in the structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures.
Hands-on experience working on industrial buildings, warehouses, or similar infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as MASTER SERIES, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE.
Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, SDS/2, and MBS for 2D/3D modeling and steel detailing.
Language:
Fluency in English is required.
Nationality:
Open to Kenyan and Ugandan nationals only.
