Job Description
As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for managing the store's daily activities, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth operations. You will play a key leadership role in motivating the sales team, handling customer inquiries and complaints, managing store inventory and budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies. You will also be responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring new staff and implementing sales strategies that align with the company’s goals. The role requires a dynamic individual with strong management and organizational skills.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service to maintain high customer satisfaction
Motivate, train, and mentor the sales team to meet and exceed sales goals
Develop and implement business strategies to attract new customers and boost profits
Hire, train, schedule, and oversee store staff
Address customer complaints and resolve issues professionally
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
Create promotional campaigns and manage in-store displays
Track buying trends and prepare detailed customer requirement reports
Manage the store budget and maintain accurate financial records
Monitor inventory and place orders for stock replenishment
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Post-secondary Diploma in Procurement, Store Management, or a related field
Experience:
1–2 years of experience in a retail setting, preferably in a managerial role
Key Skills and Competencies:
Reading Comprehension
Monitoring and Coordination
Time Management
Material Resource Management
Proficiency in document management software (especially QuickBooks)
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Proficient in English and Luganda
Preferred:
Critical Thinking and Decision-Making skills
Experience in budgeting and financial reporting
Certifications in retail or store management
Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service
