Job Description
Reporting to the Manager – Joint Ventures and Partnerships, the Senior Officer will lead the design and implementation of Joint Venture management processes and ensure compliance with Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs), and other relevant JV contracts. The role involves engaging internal and external stakeholders to coordinate strategic JV activities, providing guidance on JV decisions, participating in technical and financial meetings, and ensuring all approvals are timely and well-documented. The incumbent will also mentor junior JV staff and play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s commercial strategies across various mineral projects.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Design, implement, and coordinate JV management processes in line with JOAs, PSAs, and UNMC procedures
Mentor and manage Joint Venture Officers to ensure effective oversight of all JV activities
Ensure reporting requirements under JV agreements are met by Operators/Contractors
Coordinate with corporate functions to align JV partner engagement strategies
Represent UNMC in JV and government technical, operational, and financial meetings
Provide strategic advice and guidance to ensure JV decisions support commercial outcomes
Ensure timely and well-documented JV decisions, including approvals of expenditure and annual work programs and budgets

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Engineering, Geology, Mining, Economics, Finance, Geosciences, or a related discipline
A Master’s degree in Economics, Mining, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage
Experience:
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, including team leadership, commercial negotiations, joint venture management, and familiarity with mineral markets (regional and global)
Experience in regulated industries and business performance monitoring is an added advantage
Key Competencies:
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Effective leadership and people management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High integrity and discretion
Ability to perform under pressure and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Age Requirement:30 to 45 years
