How to Apply
Collection management; acquire, catalog, conserve and maintain zoological specimens, ensuring proper storage and preservation;
Exhibition and development; Plan, design and manage interactive and educative displays for public and academic use;
Research and documentation; conduct scientific research on biodiversity, document species and maintain accurate records of specimens;
Public education and outreach; develop educational programs, host guided tours and collaborate with schools, Universities and conservation groups;
Grant writing and fundraising; identify funding opportunities, write proposals and secure grants to support museum projects;
Collaboration and Partnerships; work with national and international institutions on biodiversity conservation and research;
Administrative and compliance duties; manage museum operations, staff and volunteers while ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards;
Digitalizing and marketing; promote the museum through online databases, social media and public events.
PhD in Zoology (Museum Studies, Biodiversity Conservation, Citizens Science or a related field);
Master’s degree in Zoology, Museum Studies, Biodiversity Conservation, Citizens Science or a related field;
Honour’s Bachelor’s degree in Zoology or Conservation Biology.
Skills/Competences
Experience in Museum curation, research and collection management, preferably in Zoology or natural history museums;
Strong knowledge of East African biodiversity and conservation issues;
Skills in public engagement, education and specific communication;
Ability to secure grants and manage projects effectively.
Age: Below 55 years
