The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is a semi-autonomous institution, established in May 1995, as the principal agency in Uganda, charged with the responsibility of coordinating, monitoring, regulating and supervising environmental management in the country.
NEMA spearheads the development of environmental policies, laws, regulations, standards and guidelines; and guides Government on sound environment management in Uganda. In doing this, NEMA contributes to social-economic development and wise use of natural resources, focusing on providing support to Government’s main goal of ensuring sustainable development contributing to the National Vision, the National Development Plan (NDP), regional and global commitments including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

How to Apply
Prepare briefings, reports, presentations, and correspondence for the Executive Director.
Manage the Executive Director’s calendar, including appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
Draft, review, and handle emails, letters, reports, and other communications professionally and promptly.
Prepare meeting agendas, record minutes, distribute them, and follow up on action points.
Handle confidential information with utmost discretion, maintaining confidentiality in all executive matters.
Develop and maintain filing systems, databases, office protocols, and coordinate office logistics.
Follow up on tasks delegated by the Executive Director to various departments, divisions, units, and individuals.
Act as the primary liaison between the Executive Director and internal and external stakeholders.
Draft internal communications, memos, and announcements on behalf of the Executive Director.
Monitor and report on budgets and expenditures related to the Executive Office.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Secretarial Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
A Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Secretarial Studies, or Office Management is preferred.
Experience
5 to 7 years of progressive experience in executive administrative support or office coordination.
Proven ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information diplomatically.
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
