Job Description
The Senior Actuarial Specialist will oversee end-to-end financial reporting processes for MFC Risk products, including IFRS, SAM, and MCEV reporting. The successful candidate will contribute to robust financial analysis, drive improvements in existing actuarial models and processes, and deliver strategic insights to support decision-making within the cluster. This includes ownership of Prophet and DCS models, capital calculations, financial forecasting, and business planning. The role provides significant exposure to valuation methods and the broader actuarial reporting environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead financial reporting across IFRS, SAM, and Embedded Value frameworks
Present valuation results and reports with clear, analytical commentary
Ensure accurate and timely capital (SCR) calculations
Support forecasting and ongoing strategy monitoring
Conduct detailed actuarial investigations as required
Maintain and enhance Prophet and DCS models
Implement continuous improvements in reporting models and valuation processes
Ensure compliance with internal control and risk frameworks
Drive efficiency in all actuarial processes

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or related field (Required)
Nearly/Newly qualified actuary or senior actuarial student (9+ exemptions)
Experience and Skills:
Significant actuarial experience in a similar role
Valuation experience preferred
Familiarity with Prophet and DCS models advantageous
Strong technical and analytical skills
High attention to detail with ability to maintain strategic perspective
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning and prioritization abilities
Initiative-driven, proactive, and results-oriented
Interest in financial modelling software
