Senior Accountant-Budget will coordinate the UETCL’s budget preparations, administer and manage all aspects of the budget functions including examining the budget estimates or proposals for accuracy, precision, and completeness during the budgeting process; ensuring conformity with financial procedures, policies and organizational objectives during the implementation process; and preparation of timely management accounting reports for management decision making.

Initiate the budget process by issuing guidelines that lead the multiyear budget making process across the company under the guidance of Manager Finance & Budget.
Correlate and consolidate the company-wide budget for review by the Management Team.
Engage in routine budget execution through review and recording of reallocations, budget checks, budget data capture when appropriate and responding to enquiries by budget holders
Co-ordinate Corporate budget performance reviews by the Electricity Regulatory Authority, in liaison with other departments.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and quarterly ERA report.
Ensure Tax compliance with respect to Value Added Tax and Corporation Tax including liaising with Tax Consultants and Uganda Revenue Authority.
Debt Management, Project construction work in progress accounting and related reconciliations with Project Account’s records under the direct guidance of Manager Finance & Budget.

Minimum level of education Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or its equivalent
Professional qualification e.g. ACCA or ACA, CPA
7-10 years’ experience with at least 2 years at a supervisory level
Proven supervisory experience
Computer literate
Significant experience in preparation of books of account
Demonstrate a background of personal and strategic leadership
High level of honesty and integrity
Ability to work as part of a team and independently with a high level of motivation.
Ability to pay attention to detail
