Job Description
Job Title: Science Officer (Research Registration and Clearance)
Organisation: Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Science Officer (Research Registration and Clearance) provides assistance in the clearance of study protocols submitted to UNCST, and issuance of a research permits in accordance with the National Research Guidelines and applicable laws related to research regulations.

How to Apply
Real time completeness check of study protocols and assign them to the respective personnel for further actions;
Track all study protocols submitted and regularly update Principal Investigators on their progress;
Assist in tracking study expiry and send out reminders to Principal Investigators for their action;
Compile documentation of registered studies to be submitted to the Research Secretariat for Clearance;
Dispatch Research permits from the Office of the President to the respective Principal Investigators;

Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Humanities and social sciences, Statistics, physical or life sciences, Public Health, Environmental Science or any related field;
Training in Research ethics is an added advantage;
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same or a similar field;
Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders;
Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and database management skills;
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Not more than 35 years of age.
