Company Overview

As part of our Pan-African expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our business development efforts in Uganda.

This role is pivotal to our growth strategy, offering the right candidate the opportunity to lead market penetration, build strategic partnerships, and scale our customer base across industries.


Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Manager with a strong background in telecom and fintech sales to drive our growth in Uganda. You will be responsible for leading end-to-end sales processes—from lead generation to deal closure—and building a robust portfolio across sectors such as banking, FMCG, SACCOs, and enterprises.

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across C2B, B2B, and enterprise segments.

  • Deliver impactful product presentations and demonstrations tailored to client needs.

  • Understand client pain points and map eTranzact solutions to address them effectively.

  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and lead the development of compelling commercial proposals.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Product, Development, Delivery) to ensure client success.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.

  • Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Manage customer onboarding processes, particularly for the Xcel App, and support partners across Uganda.

  • Work with the Marketing team to design and execute targeted sales campaigns.

Strategic Sales Management

  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.

  • Generate high-quality leads and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

  • Navigate and resolve fintech-specific challenges—technological, regulatory, and commercial.

  • Maintain a balance between managing short-term wins and long-term strategic opportunities.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in sales, business development, or related roles.

  • Demonstrated success in selling to banks, fintechs, SACCOs, and FMCGs.

  • Strong ability to lead and close complex sales cycles.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong understanding of financial services, digital payments, and fintech trends.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective growth plans.

  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments—startups or established enterprises.

  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and financial inclusion.
