Position: Safety Management Senior Supervisor

About the Role
Avanti Energy Services Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Management Senior Supervisor to lead the development and implementation of our safety strategy in Uganda. This senior-level role is critical to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and risk management across our upstream oil and gas operations.
The successful candidate will drive cross-departmental safety coordination, lead strategic safety planning, and serve as the company’s representative in engagements with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and international stakeholders.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive safety management strategy aligned with the company’s operational goals.
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and international partners on matters related to safety.
Oversee risk assessments, mitigation plans, and emergency preparedness strategies for major incidents.
Coordinate safety efforts across departments to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Supervise and mentor Safety Management Supervisors to build a high-performance safety team.
Monitor global safety trends and industry best practices to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
Ensure full compliance with Ugandan and international safety standards relevant to the oil and gas industry.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Candidate Profile
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).
Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
Experience & Certification:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior safety management role.
NEBOSH certification is required.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of Ugandan and international safety laws and regulations.
Proven ability in strategic planning, leadership, and high-stakes decision-making.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Commitment to continuous safety improvement and innovation.
Personal Attributes:
Highly responsible, proactive, and dedicated to maintaining a strong safety culture.
