JCRC is currently inviting applications from qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacancy:

Position Title: Research Nurse

Department: Paediatrics
Reports to: Deputy Head of Paediatrics
Duty Station: JCRC Headquarters, Lubowa
Supervisory Role: None

Position Summary:

The Research Nurse will play a key role in participant recruitment and follow-up, ensure accurate documentation of study procedures, and uphold the safety and well-being of study participants. The role includes the implementation of clinical research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and applicable ethical and regulatory requirements.

How to Apply

  • Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants in accordance with protocol eligibility criteria.

  • Provide patient counseling and manage participants involved in research studies.

  • Conduct and document physical assessments, medical histories, adverse events, and specimen collection.

  • Administer and monitor clinical trial medications.

  • Accurately collect and enter participant data into appropriate study forms or systems.

  • Adhere to quality assurance processes in line with GCP and sponsor guidelines.

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for research and clinical processes.

  • Manage participant reimbursements and maintain accurate records.

  • Coordinate procurement and stock management of study-related supplies.

  • Liaise with study monitors and promptly resolve any data or protocol queries.

  • Serve as a back-up for Study Coordinators when needed.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.

  • Valid GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and HSP (Human Subjects Protection) certifications.

  • Previous experience working as a research nurse in a reputable research organization is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office applications is desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct quality control checks.

  • Must possess a range of competencies including organizational, mentoring, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, creativity, self-confidence, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
